Johnny
Born in the fine city of Norwich, UK. Johnny studied German literature and linguistics at the University of Birmingham. His first taste of Russia, was on a school trip in 1999 to Moscow and St Petersburg. Fascinated by the former Soviet Union, summer holidays were spent on a journey of discovery through the Baltic States, the central Asian ‘Stans’, Ukraine, Russia, Moldova and his first visit to Transnistria in 2001.
Johnny today lives in Berlin, and his day job is spent on building sites and manages a real estate company. He travels frequently by road to Ukraine, Moldova, Russia and is a road trip specialist. Having traveled by road to the capital of the Urals – Ekaterinburg, Russia from Norwich, he made the front page of Norfolk’s not so famous “The Diss Mercury”!

Jovita
Born in Lithuania, Jovita’s childhood was part spent in the Lithuanian Socialist Soviet Republic. After moving with her family in the 1990’s to Germany, she now lives and works in the capital Berlin. Jovita is a creative soul, having studied digital communication design at the University of applied sciences in Potsdam. On a quest to compose not only a very unique, but inspiring university thesis, Jovita spent months in a small Transnistrian village living with a beautiful Babushka and her chickens. With her camera in hand she documented, cultural experiences and everyday life in Transnistria. Jovita has travelled extensively to many of the former Soviet Republics including, Ukraine, Moldova, Russia, Belarus, Georgia, Latvia and Estonia.

Andrei
Born in sunny Uzbekistan, Andrei is our Central Asia professional! He grew up in the town of Navoi, and departed Uzbekistan as life there was just getting too hairy in the troublesome years of the 1990’s. Like all free thinkers Andrei made his way to Berlin, and has just finished the University of applied sciences. After a very happy childhood growing up in the Soviet Union, Andrei is excited to show others his former homeland and culture.
